Dr Mathew Davis is a spinal orthopaedic surgeon who joined Briz Brain & Spine in 2025.

Dr Mathew Davis has particular interests in:

  • Robotic and navigated surgery
  • Adult spinal trauma and tumours
  • Degenerative spine disease

Background and Experience

Dr Mathew Davis grew up in rural Queensland and completed his medical studies at The University of Queensland in Brisbane.

This was followed by general medical training at the Cairns Hospital before Dr Davis commenced general orthopaedic training at several facilities including Nambour General Hospital, Royal Brisbane Hospital, Gold Coast University and Queensland Children’s Hospital among others. Specialist spinal orthopaedic training followed at these and other clinical establishments.

Dr Davis has recently completed a Fellowship in Spine Surgery at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital/National Spinal Injuries Unit in Dublin, Ireland and is a registered Medical Practitioner in both Australia and Ireland. He also has a keen interest in research and education, having authored several publications and presenting at various orthopaedic spine forums.
