About This Condition
Idopathic scoliosis is where there is no definite cause for the condition. There are three types of idopathic scoliosis - infantile which develops before the age of two; juvenile which occurs between the ages of two and ten; and adolescent which occurs in early adolescence. Idiopathic adolescent scoliosis affects girls more than boys and is the most common form of the condition in Australia.
