About This Condition
Also known as stenosing tenosynovitis, trigger digit is a common condition which occurs when there is a narrowing of a portion of the tendon sheath in the finger or thumb that interferes with normal finger movement. The ring finger is mostly affected by this condition but it can affect any digit. Pain, stiffness and a sensation of locking or catching when the finger is bent and straightened are common symptoms.
