About This Condition

Cervical myelopathy occurs when the spinal cord is compressed due to an injury or abnormality in the neck. It can cause pain in the neck or arm, balance or coordination issues and numbness. Myelopathy can occur in any area of the spinal cord but is particularly common in the neck.
