At BrizBrain & Spine we are committed to supplying services to patients in regional areas. From 1 July 2011, Medicare Australia introduced funding of telehealth services, including video consultations between patients and specialists.
BrizBrain & Spine are able to provide this service for a variety of consultations where physical examinations aren’t required, with the aim of reducing the burden of travel for patients in rural, regional and outer suburban communities.
Whilst currently being made available to patients who have access to Skype, expanding the service to include video consultations from GP rooms is something BrizBrain & Spine is looking at offering in the future.
Dr Richard Kahler & Dr Michael Bryant have recently been featured in Acute Matters, Issue 7 from the Holy Spirit Northside Hospital discussing the potential of tele consulting.
